Wokingham Liberal Democrats have re-selected Prue Bray as their Prospective Parliamentary Candidate. Born in Berkshire, Prue has lived in the constituency with her family for 18 years. Having gained a degree in English, Prue worked in the IT industry. In 1994 she joined the Liberal Democrats. She has been a borough councillor since 2000 and is currently Leader of the Liberal Democrat Group at Wokingham Borough Council.
Speaking after the selection meeting on Saturday 7th July, Prue said, "I am delighted I've been re-selected. I am looking forward to working with the Liberal Democrat team in Wokingham to bring the Lib Dem message to everyone across the constituency."
Prue is a Winnersh Councillor and also Leader of Wokingham Borough Lib-Dem Group. At the last General Election, she polled the highest percentage for the local party, equalling the peak figure achieved back in 2000. Elsewhere, Lib-Dem margins were being squeezed, so this was a real achievement, and forms a base for future growth.
