Ryeish Green Tops The Most Improved A-Level Results List

1.13.10pm BST (GMT +0100) Mon 20th Aug 2007

Following the publication of the A level results in Wokingham Borough, Cllr Prue Bray (Leader of the Lib Dem Councillor Group and councillor for Winnersh ward) said, "My congratulations go to all the pupils and teachers who worked so hard for these results.

"I'm delighted that the results for the borough remain above the national average, but it is so disappointing that while results improved across the country, Wokingham has gone backwards.

"Only two schools have improved on last year's results. How ironic that the school to make the biggest improvement is Ryeish Green School, the very school that the Wokingham Tories last night voted to close.

The Lib-Dems offer buckets for leaking ceilings in our crumbling schools

"While the Tories congratulate themselves on the examination results, our schools continue to crumble. Despite the very best efforts of our pupils and teachers, the terrible condition of our schools is obviously having an impact on results."
