Tories' vision for Wokingham - "should have gone to Specsavers", say Lib-Dems

Wokingham Liberal Democrats are disappointed with the Wokingham Borough Council's Tory 'vision' which was unveiled at the Council meeting last night.
Councillor Prue Bray (Leader of the Lib Dem Councillor Group and councillor for Winnersh ward) said at the meeting, "I was delighted that the Tory controlled council had come up with a vision - we've been without one for long enough. But what the Tories are pleased to call a 'vision' merely says that in 20 years time this council wants to be a bit more competent at delivering more or less the same services that it currently has to deliver.
"Well, whoopee. Is that really the height of their ambition? I thought the Tories wanted Wokingham Borough Council to be a flagship authority. Where's the pizzazz? Where's the excitement? Where's the inspiration? Where's the leadership?
"I want this council to at least try to plant its flag on top of the highest mountains. This vision is about being happy ambling about in the foothills. If the Tory vision is as limited as this, they should have gone to Specsavers."
