Wokingham Lib-Dems ask Tories "Why can't you get Addington right?"

Addington's costs are up by 50% already

Wokingham Borough Liberal Democrats are amazed that, even after thee major revisions of plans for the re-build of Addington School, the Conservatives still are not in control of the project.
Councillor Prue Bray (Leader of the Lib Dem councillor group and councillor for Winnersh ward) said, "It has become clear that the planning application, that the Council put together and subsequently approved, contained a number of things that were wrong and now have to be corrected.
"But worse than that, the Tories now appear to be going back on their promise to have a "green roof" on the building. The Conservatives had pledged to include environmentally-friendly features in the building. The green roof was supposed to be the crowning glory but now it seems it could be ditched.
"The Tories have already got their sums wrong on Addington three times, and it's going to cost the taxpayers nearly 50% more than originally estimated. They've made a mess of what needs doing to the roads outside the school and, amazingly, it's only just occurred to them to equip the school with a sprinkler system.
"It really is time they got a grip on the project and stopped making such basic mistakes."
