Last week the Wokingham Borough Council Meeting was filmed for the first time. And there were no first night nerves as Wokingham's Lib Dems welcomed open and transparent democracy.

Cllr Prue Bray, Leader of Wokingham's Lib Dems said "There were more people than could fit in the public gallery so it was a good job the meeting was filmed as there was obviously a lot of interest in the Agenda items such as the Elms Field update. It's great to see so many people there interested and involved in local democracy, particularly representatives of the Borough's youth who came to present a petition from Woodley.

"It would be a shame for residents to miss out on what happens as local decision making takes place in the Council chamber and it will be interesting to see how filming might help include or even inspire more people."
