Wokingham Lib Dems continue to call for an end to residents' problem parking nightmares

At last night's Wokingham Borough Council Meeting, Cllr Lindsay Ferris (Twyford ward) called the Council to task for lack of progress following his call in July to tackle the problem of inconsiderate parking in the Borough.

Lindsay said "The Council continues to drag its heels on this issue and residents suffer the effects of inconsiderate parking, particularly around train stations and schools. In July the Council agreed to consult residents across the Borough about decriminalising parking and yet here we are 4 months later no further forward."

At the same meeting the Chief Constable of Thames Valley Police, Sara Thornton, strongly encouraged the Council to move towards taking control of parking enforcement.

Lindsay added "it is clear that residents want something done and Wokingham's Conservatives are not getting to grips with parking problems. Other Councils across the country manage parking effectively and it is about time our residents saw some action."
