By Wokingham Liberal Democrats

Last week Cllr Keith Baker, the Conservative leader of Wokingham Borough Council, claimed that a Council meeting called by the Lib Dems would cost about £10,000. The true cost of the meeting was £508. Wokingham Borough Council

Cllr Lindsay Ferris (Twyford ward) said "Not only did Cllr Baker get his figures completely wrong, inflated by a whopping nineteen times the actual cost; he also summed up the attitude of the Conservatives attending the meeting saying "we really should be at home" instead of being at the meeting.

I do hope he's a bit more accurate when it comes to the rest of the council budget. If a council meeting really did cost £10,000, we really would be in trouble. We would recommend that Cllr Baker checks his facts before making similar wild claims in the future."
