Clive Jones, Lib Dem Parliamentary spokesman for Wokingham says, "I am delighted that Tim Farron MP has been elected as the New Leader of the Liberal Democrats. I voted for him and was very happy to campaign for him".

In a ballot of all member's of the Liberal Democrats he received over 56.5% of the vote. He is 45 years old and has been the MP for Westmorland and Lonsdale since 2005. He's married and he has three children.

He is an excellent communicator and campaigner. He has the energy, enthusiasm and passion to inspire and drive the Liberal Democrats to winning ways again.

At a rally following his election which I attended he said, "Liberal Democrats see the best in people, we trust people. That's why we stand up for the individual against the state. We stand up for the minority against the majority. We stand up for the outsider against the establishment. Because that is not just what we do, that is who we are.
"If you care about Human rights join us. If you think you shouldn't have your emails snooped on join us. If you think everyone deserves a decent home join us. If you think its wrong to demonise immigrants, the young, the poor, foreigners, Brussels, the English the scots....join us.
"If you are fed up of self satisfied politicians ambitious for themselves and unambitious for their country...then guess what....You are a Liberal.
"Liberals of Britain if you want a better Britain then you need to do something about it". Join us.

Over 17,000 people have joined the Liberal Democrats since the General election. Our fight back begins with the election of Tim Farron as our Leader.
