Treat Junior Doctors Fairly.

December 1, 2015 7:00 AM

Dodgy doctorClive Jones, Lib Dem Parliamentary candidate for Wokingham in the 2015 general election says,

"The Government must treat Junior Doctors fairly. I was admitted in the middle of the night unexpectedly and spent 3 days in the Royal Berks Hospital last weekend. A potentially serious condition was treated very quickly by a number of Doctors. I cant praise them and other health care professionals enough.

"The treatment I had was fantastic. it was quick, efficient and caring. It is really unfair that the government is trying to reduce Doctors pay, they don't deserve to be treated like this. They are hard working, dedicated professionals, our lives are in their hands. I don't want to be treated by tired demoralised Doctors.

"I know that it is very hard for them to even consider going on strike.

"Jeremy Hunt should reconsider and stop imposing these cuts in pay on our Doctors."

Liberal Democrat Health Spokesman Norman Lamb MP said: " It's a serious concern that we have reached a point where junior doctors are prepared to take strike action. The Government has woefully mismanaged this contract negotiation and Jeremy Hunt must act urgently to resolve the dispute. Everything possible must be done to avert the strike which could damage patient care.

"It is legitimate to review working practices to ensure they best meet patients' needs. However these proposals could mean less protection and a cut in pay for those junior doctors expected to work extremely long hours. That is clearly not in the best interests of patients or of NHS staff"
