The latest MRP poll from YouGov has predicted that Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Clive Jones, is on course to win in Wokingham. Clive thanks voters for their support, and reminds them that every vote will count in Wokingham, where the election is a two-horse race between Lib Dems and Conservatives.
The latest poll from YouGov has predicted that Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate Clive Jones is on course to win in Wokingham.
The MRP poll by YouGov predicts that the Conservatives would lose the seat to the Liberal Democrats.
The poll also shows Labour are out of the race in Wokingham, trailing behind in a distant third place at 15.4%.
It comes as the Liberal Democrats are on the up in the first stages of the election campaign. Clive Jones is campaigning for action on the cost of living crisis, to save our local NHS and to end the sewage scandal.
The Liberal Democrats went into the campaign with momentum on their side. They won four historic parliamentary by-election wins for the Liberal Democrats over Conservative MPs in recent years and hundreds of gains in local elections across the country since 2019.
At this election, the Liberal Democrats are looking to win seats across the so-called ‘Blue Wall”, as lifelong Conservative voters desert Rishi Sunak's party in their droves as the campaign continues.
Clive Jones, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate for Wokingham, said:
“This poll shows that the Labour Party is out of the race and can’t win here. This election is a clear two-horse race between the Liberal Democrats and the Conservative Party. Although the clear momentum is with us, every vote will count on 4th July.
“Local people are telling me day in and day out that they are backing our campaign because they’re fed up with being taken for granted by this Conservative government. I really appreciate Labour voters lending me their vote, and life-long Conservative voters who can no longer support the party it has become.
“After years of people struggling to get a GP appointment, soaring prices in the shops and our rivers being polluted by filthy sewage, people finally have the once-in-a-generation chance to vote for change in Wokingham.”
