MP and Councillors attend opening of the Wokingham Chapter of Hindu Youth Organisation

Clive Jones, MP for Wokingham, was delighted to attend the opening day of the Wokingham chapter of Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh (HSS), a Hindu Youth Organisation, at the Forest School, Winnersh, Wokingham on Friday 7th February.
Lib Dem borough councillors, Prue Bray, Rachelle Shepherd-Dubey, Imogen Shepherd-Dubey and Chetna Jamthe attended the event as guests along with MP Clive Jones to find out more about the organisation and how they support young people and families.
HSS (UK) is a registered charity with 110 chapters worldwide. The organisation invites families to participate and focuses on personal development through physical activities, games, intellectual discussions, community engagement, festivals and selfless service. The organisation teaches values, culture and the Hindu way of life in the British multicultural environment.
Clive Jones, the MP for Wokingham, said:
“I was delighted to be asked to attend this event with a number of local Lib Dem councillors including Chetna Jamthe who was elected to the council the day just the day before. We met with the group leaders and thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the activities, including Surya Namaskar yoga.
”HSS has been active in the UK since the 1960s and offers great support to local Hindu communities, fostering a sense of belonging and connection with others who share similar values.
”As the MP for Wokingham, I really value the opportunity to connect with, and learn about, all members of our community.”
