Due to the sad passing of Lib Dem Councillor Paul Fishwich, there will be a by-election in Winnersh for Wokingham Borough Council on the 6th Feburary.
Vote for Lib Dem CHETNA JAMTHE - a new voice for Winnersh.
Chetna Jamthe has lived in Winnersh for more than 24 years. Her daughters were educated locally.
Chetna works as a senior business analyst and volunteers for charities helping with mental health challenges. She is keen to bring her business knowledge to the borough council and to work for Winnersh residents.
Chetna is a hardworking member of the local Lib Dem team and will be a fantastic representative for local people. She has valuable business experience and a real passion to help people. I am looking forward to working with her.
Prue Bray, Winnersh Councillor
A record of achievement and promise of more
Your Winnersh Lib Dem team has worked hard for you for many years.
Local Lib Dems have secured new parking restrictions requested by residents in many local roads, revived the Winnersh Park & Ride buses, and helped countless residents with a great range of concerns- from special educational needs and social care to fly-tipping and planning.
Paul's knowledge and enthusiasm will be much missed, but we know Chetna will be an excellent borough councillor, who will defend and promote Winnersh at every opportunity.

Protecting us from higher housing numbers
The new Labour government wants a massive 75% increase in the number of houses that have to be built in Wokingham Borough every year. The Lib Dems on the council are protecting the Borough from these higher numbers by bringing forward the new Local Plan.
This will allow us to keep the existing, lower target for the next few years. In the circumstances, this is the least worst option for the Borough, though it means there will have to be some large scale developments, including Hall Farm.
Hall Farm was put into the new Local Plan by the previous Conservative administration. The Lib Dems have reduced the size of the development by over 500 dwellings.
Other Lib Dem measures in the improved Local Plan include increasing the number of green spaces protected from development from fewer than 10 to over 100, new energy efficiency standards that will make houses cheaper to heat, and more affordable homes.
Once adopted, the new local plan will protect Winnersh and the whole borough from speculative developments.
By opposing the local plan, the Conservatives risk exposing Winnersh and other areas to more building and uncontrolled development.
