Job Details
Lead and maintain a highly professional administrative support function for the MP’s office, including line managing senior staff.
Support and manage the recruitment of staff for the MP’s office Identify training opportunities and ensure the office team maintain and develop knowledge of relevant legislation where appropriate.
Liaise with groups/personnel including at Westminster, within the constituency and the general public on the MP’s behalf as necessary
Collate all required information from team members to present to the MP
Plan the MPs internal communications and external stakeholder engagement and provide strategic advice on constituent matters on behalf of the MP where appropriate
Have final signoff on all relevant delegated areas from the MP, for example constituent correspondence
Responsibility for managing all aspects of the budget, keeping the MP informed of all relevant financial matters and liaising with IPSA on office finance
Horizon-scanning, anticipate what advice or action may be required; proactively identify problems and resolve them
Deal with security matters, keep abreast of security guidance, maintain the security system, liaise with external bodies as appropriate
There may be requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours, including attending events with the MP as required.

Job Details
Ensure that each case is dealt with promptly, sensitively, confidentially and accurately
Deal with large numbers of standard queries, as well as assisting on more complex cases from members of the public by phone, email, social media or face to face. Log all cases, monitor progress and ensure all identified actions are taken
Gather relevant information to assist with resolving cases
Draft responses to constituents
Ensure records are kept and information managed confidentially in line with the data protection legislation
There may be a requirement for the role holder to work outside of the normal working hours and travel for work occasionally, including accompanying the MP to surgeries and visits within the constituency

Job Details
Clive Jones and Wokingham Borough Liberal Democrats are recruiting a campaign organiser and communications officer. You will work for Wokingham Liberal Democrats organising campaigns and volunteers for the MP and local elections and for the MP's Parliamentary office on communications on constituency, non-party political matters.
As Campaign Organiser you will:
Build campaigning and organisational capability, including recruiting members and volunteers.
Manage and maintain the team of volunteers across all aspects of campaigning.
Organise the delivery of the campaign plan
Plan and support fundraising, including campaigns and events
Design and deliver a programme of doorstep communication with voters Attend relevant conferences, training and other meetings as required.

As Communications Officer you will:
Establish, monitor and update a social media and online presence in the constituency.
Produce online graphics and video content, as well as publicising events and news alerts Manage and monitor social media enquiries, dealing with cases that do not need to be transferred to a higher level.
Ensure all enquiries are dealt with in a timely manner
Monitor media coverage, liaise with media, prepare press releases as required (on constituency, non-party-political matters)
Produce press releases, liaise with the media, meeting deadlines as appropriate
There may be a requirement to work outside of normal working hours and travel for work occasionally

The following criteria are considered essential:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead, mobilise and manage volunteers.
  • Exceptional personal organisation.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision, self-motivating and able manage own workload.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with current issues in UK politics and sympathy with the values of the Liberal Democrats.

The following criteria are considered highly desirable:

  • Experience of delivering effective Liberal Democrat campaigns.
  • Experience of Liberal Democrat software and databases (e.g. Affinity Publisher,NationBuilder & Connect)
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.

Job Details
Lead and manage the casework team, managing a large caseload of complex cases, working in a professional, confidential, caring and sensitive manner.
Manage the constituency office, including liaising with suppliers when required regarding office supplies and security.
Exercise a high level of autonomy in reaching decisions on cases based on the evidence Gather relevant information to resolve or progress cases
Liaise with Government agencies, voluntary sector and others to resolve constituency matters
Engage professionally, confidentially with care and integrity with members of the public, through telephone enquiries, social media, emails and face to face Assist with surgeries and other meetings and follow up as appropriate
Supervise other members of staff including coaching and mentoring
Provide administrative management in relation to MP’s expenses scheme via IPSA Online.

Job Details

  • Analyse, evaluate and interpret data to ensure Member is accurately informed on key issues
  • Assist in writing external communications including speeches for the MP
  • Compilation of briefing packs for MPs, take notes of meetings and draft appropriate submissions
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge on relevant areas of parliamentary business including
  • Motions, legislation, Hansard, debates etc. To include how they impact on the constituency
  • Help draft amendments for reports and prepare briefing material
  • Provide generalist admin support including managing the MP’s Parliamentary diary
  • Engage confidentially, professionally, with care and integrity with members of the public, through telephone enquiries, social media, email and face to face
  • Maintain positive on-going relationships with all parties including members of the public, groups, suppliers and Westminster where required
