Slough, Woking, Thurrock, Kent, Birmingham - these are just a few of the councils, of all political colours, in severe financial difficulties at present. The list grows by the week.
This week, I want to provide three more examples of the way in which the council is seeking to plan ahead and secure improvements in the years to come.
Most of us would agree that councils should prioritize helping those who most need help, such as children and adults with physical or mental challenges.

In July 2021 the government published its Transport Decarbonisation Plan (TDP) which sets out what needs to be done to achieve net zero emissions across all modes of transport by 2050.
