Polling station finally out of Oaklands School

For the last 9 years your local Lib Dems have been campaigning to move our polling station out of Oaklands School, something we were repeatedly told by the Tories was not possible.

The new Lib Dem-run Council has successfully  fulfilled on our promise, and the new polling station is now at St Sebastian's Hall.

Councillor Jordan Montgomery says, "We made a pledge to the parents who suffered the disruption of the school being closed nearly every year for polling day, and I am so glad that we have delivered!”

Working hard to get Nine Mile Ride re-opened

While the emergency gas works on Nine Mile Ride were unavoidable, as local residents ourselves we know the difficulty this has caused. We will continue to work closely with Wokingham Borough Council Officers and the Gas Board to ensure that disruption is kept to a minimum, and that the road is re-opened as soon as possible.

A helping hand this winter

Wokingham Borough residents who are struggling to pay for essentials during the cost-of-living crisis could get a grant of up to £240 to help with the cost of
food, fuel and other essentials. Councillor Jordan Montgomery says, “This is good news with more residents than evergrappling with higher costs for food, energy and housing. The Lib Dems running Wokingham Borough Council have created a £250,000 fund for longer term projects to tackle the root causes of poverty.”
